The ombuds officers offer various services all designed to facilitate discussion to help visitors assess and review their options, discover resources and address concerns. Ombuds officers can help identify the policies that apply to a particular situation and help to understand the wording, interpretation, and practical implications of the policies.  Ombuds officers are also available to meet, listen and develop strategies.

The Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the International Ombudsman Association are the basis for the principles and functions of the Ombuds Office.
