Marilyn Molina, MS, CO-OP

Marilyn joined the Ombuds Office in July 2015 as the Administrative Manager and has since advanced to the role of Associate Ombuds Officer.  Her journey at the university began in December 2006 with the Facilities Department, where she was committed to promoting an environment that values equity and impartiality - principles she continues to uphold in her work today.

Raised in Brooklyn and proud of her Nuyorican heritage, Marilyn holds a BS from SUNY Empire State College. She furthered her education with an MS in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Columbia University and is currently a candidate for an MA in Social-Organizational Psychology from Teachers College. Additionally, she holds a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from eCornell University.

Marilyn is a Certified Organizational Ombuds Practitioner (CO-OP) by the International Ombuds Association (IOA), a certified trainer in Workplace Conflict Resolution by the Mediation Training Institute at Eckerd College, and a certified practitioner of the EQ-i 2.0 & 360 Model of Emotional Intelligence by the Multi-Health Systems. She also serves as co-chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) committee within the IOA.

In her role as Associate Ombuds Officer, Marilyn provides confidential, impartial, and informal support to the university community. She assists students, faculty, and staff in exploring options to address their issues and concerns, while enhancing their communication and conflict resolution skills. When she is not managing conflicts, she enjoys reading mystery novels, spending time with her partner, family, friends, and caring for her rescue dog, Frosty.

"Conflict is no stranger to any of us.  We experience it daily whether it's at home or at work.  I'm here to provide a confidential space for you to talk, for me to listen, and together to explore options and resources."
